Community Steering Committee
Dear Sturgis Community,

We are forming a Community Steering Committee (comprised of approximately 10-12 people) to help guide our work as we determine what investments to make in our school facilities. This work will benefit both current and future generations of Trojans. The last time that Sturgis Public Schools went through a process like this was 25 years ago, so this is truly generational work.

Our goal is to make investments that provide an outstanding educational experience that inspires community pride, strengthens our sense of belonging, and makes our community a place where people want to live, learn, and thrive!

Community Steering Committee Members will be asked to:
  • Actively participate in on-site community input meetings.
  • Meet with the architect and construction manager throughout the process.
  • Make recommendations that are in alignment with the goal outlined above.
  • Make recommendations to the Board of Education via the District Steering Committee.
We anticipate that most of this work will occur in the evenings, and we will set the exact process and schedule together.
