My name is Elizabeth Clark.  My students and their families call me Ms. Beth.

I have a Master’s degree in Special Education (Early Childhood Special Education) from James Madison University in Virginia.  In Dec. 2007, I completed a Masters of Education program in Cognitive Impairments and Early Childhood Education from Grand Valley State University.

I am beginning my 21st year of teaching special education.  I have previously taught special education to all ages, Preschool through 12th grade.  I spent one year working in a psychiatric/substance abuse step down facility for adolescent girls.  There I was the teacher as well as a member of the treatment team.

I grew up in Sturgis, and then moved to  Indiana during my freshman year in high school.  After graduating from high school, I  moved to Virginia to attend college.  I attended Eastern Mennonite University, and James Madison University.  I also took some administration classes at Shenandoah University.  I was in Virginia for 15 years prior to moving back to Sturgis, with my husband and two older children years ago.  We had a third child in March of 2009.

My hobbies include music (listening and performing),  and spending time with my children.  In past summers, I  coordinated activities for an enrichment program, for children ages birth through five years with another colleague. I used to work as an activities coordinator for a disability camp in Pennsylvania.  My dream is to work with some camps in the area to create a summer camp for people with disabilities and their families.

If you would like to get in touch with me, you may reach me by phone at 659-1540 (school office), or dial 659-1500 and then dial 40105 at the prompt.  You may also send an e-mail at

If your child is returning, I look forward to working with him/her again this year.  If your child is new to the program, I look forward to getting to know you and your child.

Please feel free to email or call me if you ever have a question, or concern.  I want to work with you to make this a great experience for your child.  Together, we can do great things for your child.
