STEM X

We are excited to announce an exciting new opportunity for our students — the Eastwood STEM X advanced learning program, launching in the 2026–2027 school year!

Our mission for this program is simple yet powerful: Explore. Experiment. Excel.

The Eastwood STEM X program is designed for students who show strong academic achievement and curiosity in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics, as well as advanced reading and problem-solving skills. Students in this program will engage in hands-on projects, critical thinking challenges, and collaborative learning experiences that extend beyond the traditional classroom.

Who Can Apply

We are looking for motivated learners in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade this year who demonstrate academic readiness and enthusiasm for advanced learning. Students who score in the 80th percentile or higher on the STAR Reading or STAR Math assessment this December and January will meet the criteria to apply for the STEM X program.

How to Prepare

Please encourage your child to take the upcoming STAR Reading and Math tests seriously, as these assessments will be an important part of the qualification process. Remind them to do their best and show what they truly know and can do!

Next Steps

Families of SPS students who met the eligibility criteria should have received an invitation to apply for the Eastwood STEM X Advanced Learning Program in the coming weeks. Additional information about the process, program structure, and timeline are included in the invitation to apply. This includes a commitment letter, which is due by February 27, 2026.

Families of non-SPS students and families of SPS students who did not receive an invitation to apply for the program must select a date to take the STAR Reading and/or STAR Math assessment by clicking this link no later than February 27, 2026. Choose one testing session for STAR Reading and/or STAR Math. If you have multiple children who need to sign up to test, please submit a separate form for each child. If all testing sessions are filled, please contact Ms. Welc ([email protected]). Students who meet the eligibility criteria will then receive an invitation to apply.

We are thrilled to offer this exciting new opportunity that reflects Eastwood’s ongoing commitment to challenge, inspire, and support all learners. Together, we can help our students explore, experiment, and excel!
