  • Cinco de Mayo Celebration
Eastwood would like to give a huge THANK YOU to our Hispanic community for bringing in all the wonderful candy for piñatas, homemade authentic Mexican food, and drinks to celebrate Cinco de Mayo!  There was more than enough for all students and staff to experience this Mexican tradition.  Students also celebrated by making and breaking piñatas, learning the history of Cinco de Mayo, listening to our own Eastwood Mariachi band perform, and of course we all enjoyed the delicious food. Thank you to all who participated in and donated to this wonderful celebration.  A special thank you to Mrs. Preston and the Eastwood ESL (English Second Language) staff for all the time and effort they put into coordinating this event.

  • Teacher Requests
While we believe it is important to provide parents with this opportunity to request their child’s teacher, we also recognize that certain parameters must be in place to guarantee equity for all children. Parents who wish to request teachers for their child at Eastwood School next school year should follow the process below:
    1. State your request in writing and with a clear rationale. Deliver your written request to the Eastwood School office no later than Tuesday, April 30th.
    2. Requests need to include more than one teacher. Request letters must identify at least 2-3 teachers as possibilities so that classroom balance can be achieved. Single requests for teachers will not be considered.

Parents are cautioned not to rely on hearsay when requesting teacher(s) for their child. If you are unsure and would like to discuss your child’s particular needs, please contact the Eastwood School office at 659-1560 to schedule an appointment.

    Robert J. Matkin, Principal
