GREAT START READINESS PRESCHOOL
Welcome to the Great Start School Readiness Program at Sturgis Central Commons. This program is for four-year-old children who live in the Sturgis Public School District. Children must turn four but not yet turn five years old by December 1st.
Children can attend a morning session (9:00 - 11:35 a.m.) or an afternoon session (1:00 - 3:35 p.m.) on Monday through Thursday. The program does not run on Friday. There is a ratio of one adult to eight children as class size is capped at 16 students per section.
A one-page application is used to determine eligibility which includes income and other risk factors. Openings occur throughout the year as some students move away. Please stop in to get an application at the Community Education Office. We are located in the Central Commons Building (l07 W. West Street). Park at the Sturgis Library and come in the south entrance which is directly across the street.
