                                A little about me...

My name is Lisa Tisdel. I am married to Don and we have three awesome children, two daughters and one son.  Shelby graduated from Sturgis High School last year, and has been taking classes at the Kalamazoo Institute of Art. Mikenzie is fifteen years old and will be a freshman at the high school this year. DJ, our youngest, is ten years old and will be in 4th grade at Eastwood School. We live just east of Sturgis with two dogs, a 3-legged cat, and several miscellaneous farm animals.   In my free time I enjoy reading, photography, and of course, spending time with my friends and family.

I graduated from both Glen Oaks Community College and Western Michigan University.  I have a Bachelor's Degree in Education with minors in language arts, math, and science and an Emphasis in Early Childhood Education.  My Master's Degree is in Elementary Education.  I began my teaching career in Bronson, where I taught preschool, kindergarten and third grade.  In the fall of 1998, I started my adventure in first grade here at Wenzel.  I love Wenzel School !!!  I have been teaching first (and a little bit of second) grade here for 16 years.  Time flies when you're having fun!  I have been on numerous committees while teaching in Sturgis; including curriculum mapping, updating report cards, and school improvement.  I am currently the school improvement chair for Wenzel School.

I am looking forward to another great year at Wenzel.  Did I tell you I love Wenzel School?  I know you will, too!  Parents, thank you for sharing your children with me.  I will do my best to help your child do his or her best.  If you have any comments, questions, or concerns please call me at 659-1575 ext. 3607, or email me at ltisdel@sturgisps.org.
