In kindergarten, we not only learn how to read, and write, but also to count, add, and subtract. We learn about our world and where we fit into it in Social Studies. In Science we learn about living things like plants and earthworms, motion, our five senses and our Earth. Through all of this, we learn how to get along with others and how to be a part of our school family while having fun with our newly made friends.
I am a Sturgis native. I graduated from Sturgis High School. I have both Bachelors and Masters of Arts degrees in Elementary Education. This will be my 19th year teaching kindergarten. This will be my 12th year at Wenzel. Before that, I taught at Fawn River Kindergarten Center, here in Sturgis, until it was closed twelve years ago. I live on our family farm where my family and I raise cattle, corn, seed corn, string beans and soybeans. We have three dogs named Albert, Harold, and Bob and many miscellaneous barn cats. We enjoy farming with our International Harvester tractors. "Crops are green. Tractors are red!"
