State law requires attendance in school.  In addition, attendance directly affects a child's success in school as well as his or her ability to develop peer relationships, to participate in enrichment or reinforcement activities, and to participate in special scheduled events including field trips and assemblies.  When a child is absent from school, the following steps should be taken:

1.   Call the school office attendance answering machine at 659-1555 by 10:00 a.m..  Leave a message including your child’s name, grade, homeroom teacher, and reason for absence.  If it is an extended illness, please include the number of days the child is expected to be absent.  If you fail to call by 10:00 a.m. you will receive a courtesy call from our automated called system notifying you that your child is absent.

2.   If you are unable to call, please send a note when child returns.

3.  Verify with your child that he or she has received notification of all missed work and assignments.
