• Announcement:

To date, Sturgis Public Schools has had 9 snow days and one 2 hour delay.  The state grants every district 6 days that do not have to be made up.  In order to meet state requirements, we will make up 3 days by adding to the end of the school year.  The final school day for students – at this time - will be Friday, June 13.

As many are aware, a district must have 75% attendance in order to “count” a day.  To date, we have met that requirement on every day that school has been in session.

IF there are additional closings or delays after April 1, the state grants additional grace days.  Please understand that adjustments to the end of the school year are still possible.

  • Teacher Requests
While we believe it is important to provide parents with this opportunity to request their child’s teacher, we also recognize that certain parameters must be in place to guarantee equity for all children.  Parents who wish to request teachers for their child at Eastwood School next school year should state your request in writing and with a clear rationale.  Deliver your written request to the Eastwood School office no later than Wednesday, April 30th.

There is always a possibility of staff changes in the future, please consider requesting more than one teacher to help us accommodate your request.

Parents are cautioned not to rely on hearsay when requesting teacher(s) for their child.  If you are unsure and would like to discuss your child’s particular needs, please contact the Eastwood School office at 659-1560 to schedule an appointment.

    Robert J. Matkin, Principal
