Hello! My name is Jan Modert. I am very excited about having your child in my class. I know we will have a great year with a lot of growth in learning.
I have lived in Sturgis all my life. I even attended Eastwood for my elementary schooling. After graduating from Sturgis High School, I moved to Mishawaka, Indiana. I graduated with a degree in Elementary Education from Bethel College. Currently, I am working on my Master's Degree in Reading through Spring Arbor University. I am anxious to utilize my degree in third grade. Third grade is my favorite and I always have fun with this age group. I am also very excited to be back in Sturgis. My parents own a local flooring business and my brother is starting college this year. I love being close to my family.
In my free time, I enjoy being with my friends, reading, playing piano, and traveling. While at Bethel, I was fortunate enough to spend a semester traveling the Pacific Rim. I adventured through New Zealand, Australia, Singapore, and China. Learning more about the world is one of my favorite things to do! I look forward to bringing my knowledge of different cultures into my classroom to enhance the learning experience.
